The Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited has been certified as having Management System as per DIN EN ISO 9001 : 2008 vide certificate dated 02-11-09 issued by TUV NORD CERT GmbH. The above certificate has been issued for Trading of Electrical Power and Coordination Activities.

Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited(GUVNL) and its three subsidiary Companies bagged National Awards for Meritorious Performance in Power Sector awarded by the "Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers Association" (IEEMA) in the various categories as under:

1. Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. - (State Reforms category)     

2. Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd. - (Generation Gas Category)

3. Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd. - (Power distribution - Urban & Rural category)

4. Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Ltd. - (Rural Electrification category)

The Awards were given by IEEMA at the ceremony held on 24th February, 2009 at New Delhi.

Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Ltd. (GETCO) has bagged the National Award given by Ministry of Power for Meritorious Performance in Power Sector viz Gold Shield for best executed Power Transmission project to 220 KV Rajpar Sub Station in Surendranagar district. Mr. S.Jagadeesan, IAS, Principal Secretary (Energy and Petro Dept.) and Mr. S.K. Negi, MD(GETCO) received this prestigious shield from President of India at New Delhi on 17th February, 2009. 

Dr. P.K.Mishra appointed as Chairperson of the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) by Govt. of Gujarat.
